Add the original washer and nut. – Tighten the nut until the head of the bolt begins to spin. Use pliers to hold the head of the bolt static to finish tightening. – Do not over-tighten the bolt! The gardening loppers still need to pivot smoothly. Loosen nuts slightly if lopping shears don’t open and close easily. – Repeat the process for the second bolt. For correct alignment, attach the new blade with the anvil loppers completely closed. – Test to make sure the loppers for gardening open and close easily. Make any necessary adjustments.
