This is a genuine OEM sourced replacement recoil starter assembly. It is specially designed for Hitachi and Tanaka trimmers and blowers. This is the starter housing that is used to pull start the equipment. It includes a plastic shroud/housing, starter pulley, starter spring, grip and the pull rope. Please note, the hardware to secure this assembly is sold separately.To complete this repair you will need a wrench. Disconnect the spark plug wire Remove the screws that secure the starter body Remove old assembly Secure the new assembly Reattach the spark plug wire and test the toolThis part is also only used on models with date codes before July 2014 and contains the black rope reel.
